Re: Kanonhylser.

@Jos: the 22 cm Mörser (p) mentioned in the link you posted used a bag charge and a primer, not a shellcase.

@Mitsn: could you give some more data, width of the base for instance, and a picture of the headstamp ?

Re: hva er dette?

Hello, this is the lid of an airtight container for shellcases, german, WW2. In my opinion, for 15 cm Tbts. K. C/36, Tbts K/L 45 and 15 cm S.K. C/28. The "Lg"tells us that this was once the lid for a container containign a shellcases for "Leuchtgeschoss", a flare shell. The 'Lg&q...

Re: Torpedohylse?

@Natter: yes, i think it was blasted with glass beads. What you think is molten lead is actually a corroded steel C/12 primer, it was blasted as well, so it looks a bit strange. Thanks for the info on the general build up of the case. :bra: And you're english is fine, and certainly better then my No...

Re: Torpedohylse?

@Natter: no i have not removed anything. As far as i know, this one was found on the bottom of the Baltic sea. And i would never ever use a shellcase for flowers. So these shellcases were used as a back up only ? Do you know how they were sealed, a piece of cork, or plastic cup just like the...

Re: Torpedohylse?

You're welcome. PDT_Armataz_01_18 If you ever come across more plastic cups, then i would be very interested. Plenty of material for trade available..(sorry, just had to say that) Below different headstamps of WBW C/35 shellcases, both brass and steel. Furthermore, have a look at the gun in the blac...

Re: Torpedohylse?

Hello, first of all, my apologies for not writing in Norwegian, it's a language i still have not mastered. But at least now i am able to contribute to this wonderful forum. To me, this shellcase looks like a propelling charge for a german depth charge thrower, most likely the Wasserbombenwerfer C/35...
