Following is screenshots of about 20 pictures while playing Day of Defeat. The main point is to show its possible to have a good battlefield even in a tight space. Many of the pictures shows fighting in close quarters.

Allied forces make their way into a bunker. Note, a bunker made for the Austraat or Fjell fortification will be with more details.

Players in DoD starts together and will try to take objectives. Theese are flags in stratigic possitions.

Some of the details are beautifully made and gives the whole game a nice environment. The sound too will change as one goes in a tunnel.

This picture is taken from a costum made map. This door opens whinin but can be destroyed by heavy fire.

I have no idea how long it took to modell this map, but I will try to get in touch with the artist.

Allied soliders have taken command of a bunker post and await an counter attack.

Tanks and other wehicles are in the map, but they are just objects and can not drive or fire. DoD may but wehicles in the map at a later versjon, but for the map we like to make there is no need for tanks (yet).

It is possible to make the wall crumble on the impact of a heavy weapon. However, the thickness of this wall is too thin.

In dark places there is the possiblilty too use flashlight. (its really close
to walking in a bunker today!)

Found a Flak-gun (105mm?) in one of the custom maps. I hope I would be able to get my hands on this modell)

Allied solider taken by suprise. He had lost his prime gun and my only option where to take him down, but I really would like see a option to take him a prisoner. This picture is a good example of how far 3D modelling have come. In 5 years I do expect this to be even closer to the real thing. See the white dots around his face? Its frost!

Close quarter fighting. A blast have ripped off his helmet. Behind is a german solider making his move.
