In search of locations

Hello all,

I'm linked to the Atlantikwall museum Raversyde in Belgium, near Ostend (www.raversyde.be). the museum hired a professional photographer to make artistic photographs from different sites along the entire Atlantikwall, from Norway til the Spanish border. As it is impossible to photograph all the defence works, we want to make sure that we let the photographer take pictures of the "best" ones.

I have been doing some research, but there are so many German defence works in Norway that it's hard to pick a few. So, my question is if you could suggest some locations that the photographer can't miss when visiting Norway!

We're looking for a variety of iconic places. It's not about the biggest guns or bunkers, while they are of course welcome, we're especially looking for those hidden gems. For us the surrounding landscapes are equally important as the bunkers themselves. We're looking for remote sites, sites integrated in modern day society, nice examples of reuse of defence works, rare bunkers, special camouflage,... It's an artistic project, so it's not necessary to have all types of bunkers covered, but a variety would be nice.

I'm very much looking forward to your suggestions!

Thanks in advance,
Benoit

There are so many candidates, but here are a few obvious ones (wether big guns are a main focus or not...) - especially considering the surrounding nature:
* MKB Engeløy (Batterie Dietl)
* MKB Kroodden (Batterie Vara)
* MKB Örlandet (Austrått fortress)
* MKB Fjell
* Herdla
* Torpedobatterie Nordlandet (+ Julholmen and Ledangsholm, seen from the sea)
* HKB Utvorden-Nord
* HKB Elgsnes and HKB Grøtavær
* The german tank shooting-range at Trandum (although not a coastal defence installation, it's still a spectacular site I think).
* All (?) batteries in Lofoten and Finnmark, although most places you'll get more nature and less remains of concrete and steel...
* +++

Most sites are well-documented in online forums like "Kystfort.com", as well as in books (for instance, the first two volumes of J-B. Wahl's trilogy of the atlantic wall in Norway should provide a good reference with it's numerous photos). I suggest browsing through the topics in here and in available books to make an educated decision :)
